Hunger doesn't take a holiday

For the second time, Moisson Montréal is launching a summer fundraising campaign to raise awareness about a problem that not many Montrealers know about. During the summer, many families can no longer benefit from in-school food assistance programs or other programs that stop operations when school is out. In the coming weeks, Moisson Montréal’s accredited organizations will see a spike in need and pantry shelves will quickly empty.

From July 20th to August 20th


You are invited to contribute to the campaign Hunger doesn’t take a holiday by many artistic and creative activities.

Throughout the campaign, you will be able to make a donation online or by texting HOLIDAYS to 20222 ($10 donation).


Create your « Edible Art Plates »

Join us and participate in this solidarity movement by creating your own « Edible Art Plate »Post the most creative plate and act concretely against food insecurity in Montreal for the chance to win, each week, access passes to La Ronde!

Early August: 

Feeding Our Future picnic at Montreal Museum of Fine Arts

As part of the Feeding Our Future program, in partnership with the Sodexo Foundation and the Montreal Museum of Fine Artschildren attending the participating day camps will be offerecultural activities at the museum and a lunch.

A hands-on workshop will stimulate the children’s creativity and budding artistic talents.

August 19th and 20th:

Campaign closure at La Ronde!

Join us at La Ronde where all visitors are invited to donate at least $15 or six non-perishable food items to get a day pass for $25, a 40% discount on the regular ticket price, from the opening to 6pm on August, 19th and 20th.

According to the Montreal metropolitan community, in 2011 the Greater Montreal region accounted for a little more than one million families, including 40% living under the low income threshold.

Therefore it's 400,000 low-income families who may need access to a food bank, once or more often, during the summer period. In order to maintain enough food in our warehouse and on the shelves of over 250 organizations that we serve all summer long,

Moisson Montréal must raise $50,000 in monetary donations and other non-perishable food items. It's a small cost to get the peace of mind that thousands of families will be able to eat properly during a time that should be all about joy and lighthearted fun.
