We are thrilled to announced that actress Florence Longpré will be the spokeswoman for our summer Hunger Doesn’t Take a Holiday campaign.
“I believe that every human being has the right to eat well. In my opinion, that’s a basic need,” explains the actress who plays the comic role of Gaby Gravel on Like Moi !, a French-language comedy sketch show.
Her roles in Like Moi ! have gained her the most popularity, but you may have seen her previously on the well-loved TV series Mémoires vives, La Galère and 19-2. Florence also appeared on the youth TV show, MDR, which ran for three seasons on Vrak.tv.
An active member of the LNI improv troupe since 2010, Florence has been part of the Ligue d'improvisation montréalaise since 2006. A graduate of the theatre program at Collège Lionel-Groulx, Florence joined the cast of Marie-Louise Chouinard’s Les incroyables aventures de Thierry Ricourt in 2011. A playwright and stage director, her play Chlore was very well received during a run at La Licorne in November 2012 and was picked up at the Centre du Théâtre d'Aujourd'hui in winter 2014. Her new play, Sylvie aime Maurice, will premiere at La Licorne in March 2017.
Known for her humour, talent and humanity, Florence is ideally suited to reminding all Montrealers (in a voice, loud and clear) that hunger never takes a holiday.
Florence agreed to join the Moisson Montréal family, because, “if someone is going hungry, then we have to help, we have to provides the necessary resources right away.”
Florence will be joining us for the campaign launch at La Ronde on July 21. Drop by to say hello and drop off your donations!
